I asked if we could leave, but the officer kept me there demanding answers. "Someone complained," she declared, "we have to follow up." "Like hell you do," I told her, "not when you don't have reasonable suspicion to think I did anything wrong."
"They scared me, Grandpa..."
This is a great example of how the government is creating hyper-vigilance among society, not to mention the police themselves who over-zealously pursue these kinds of reports. It rarely if ever crosses their minds to consider that the person they are harassing could be, and in many cases, obviously is, completely innocent.
