Contemtible Judges and Courts

A person or group of people who behave in a respectable manner will spontaneously garner respect. To demand respect under force of law, as in the courts, is contemptible, rendering the person or group unworthy of respect.

Refusing to stand up as a judge enters the court is punishable by law resulting in whatever punishment they hand out (fines, jail time...).

Not standing in this manner is a form of protest, protected by the First Amendment. Apparently, your Constitutionally protected rights must be left at the door of the court.
